More
about the area
The district of Piacenza stretches itself in the
north-western part of Emilia Romagna, south river
Po. The typical landscape of the Po valley, with
its poplar-groves and rice-fields, changes near
Piacenza into hills covered with vineyards of tha
most quality wine and then up to the beautiful Appenne
of Emilia and Liguria. The torrents Arda, Nure,
Tidone and the river Trebbia, give their names to
the four main valleys. Besides the old cities of
Bologna, Pavia, Paicenza and Parma, all around the
area rise amazing medieval forts and castles, with
their magic and mistery.
